About this Work
This new work is produced in a responsive way, each piece isn’t pre planned and is created at the point of connection through stitch. The threads are an essential element of the work, representing the fragility, deconstruction and break down of matter over time.
About the Artist
Maura’s work focuses on texture and the tactile nature of natural materials. Intrigued by line and tone, in these new pieces she took the decision to exploit abstract potential and play around with layers. The muted colour palette was also a deliberate restriction to challenge textural variety.
